Global Health Essay Position Introduction Advanced practice nursing is a complex field that needs additional research and basic knowledge. Research centered findings are likely to produce positive outcomes as when nurses get the right knowledge in their field, they will be in a place to provide better health care to their patients. Evidence based practice comes from various sources especially the health facilities, and the basic clinical knowledge that nurses get from their trainings. Evidence based research means a change in the modes of education and practice research that nurses are required to have, for them to have the right knowledge of their field. Part A: The Importance of Evidence Based Research in Advanced Nursing Practice Evidence based practice ensures quality improvement in health facilities. This is because nurses with a wide knowledge of their field are able to transform their attained knowledge into practice. Nurses who have gained information out of their clinical knowledge, which gives them a platform of making the right decisions, can only do this. Advanced evidence based research helps nurses to know what should be improved in the healthcare unit. Nurses are provided with basic information, and it is only a nurse who has gone further to explore the filed that they are able to know what necessarily should be used to improve the performances of a health care (Murray Rosen, 2010). This makes it easy to improve the quality of a health carebecause with the acquired knowledge; nurses can ensure that patients get what they need. In the healthcare field, it is always necessary to be prepared in terms of the information and research that a health care provider has. Concerning this, a nurse who has ev idence based research is able to have the right knowledge about new technologies in the field, and new modes of treatments. This is useful in improving the welfare of patients, as a nurse with advanced knowledge is able to offer quality treatments to their patients. Nurses who have evidence-based practice are able to advance their careers. This is because with the nature of research that they attain, they are able to know more about the field, which can help them, improve their careers. Skills attained by nurses who engage in research are distributed to other practitioners, and this helps to ensure that every health provider is equipped with the right information to handle patients (Capezuti, 2007). Nurses who also use evidence-basedresearch are able to understand the needs of patients better. This is because such nurses understand better how to treat their patients and what can be done to improve their general health. Part B: Why Nurses Need to Understand Some Basic Research Methods Whereas nurses find it important to use advanced research in their work, it is necessary that they understand some basic research methods that they can use to gather their intended information. Nurses need to know how to conduct research to be in a place to answer any question in their field. These especially clinical related questions need thorough research to generate conclusions. They also need to know how to conduct research so that they can answer some concerns in regards to how they make decisions (Hall Linda, 2016).Some situations forces nurses to make their owndecisions and this can only be done when a nurse understands their work fully. They also need to know how to take greater care of their patients, and especially some patients with special conditions.Nurses who conduct research know all the methods that can be used to conduct research during certain periods. This means that a nurse who understands some basic research methods is able to use various methods in different areas of research. Nurses who understand some research methods are able to generate findings easily. This is because they will have the knowledge of the various methods that can be used, and know how to use them to derive conclusions (Hall Linda, 2016). Such nurses understand how to conduct experiments during a research, to generate conclusions based on actual research. Additionally, there are some nurses chosen to speak to aspiring nursing students in schools, or junior nurses. This means that such a nurse should understand all theresearch methods so that they can answer all questions for the students. It would be unprofessional for a student to ask a qualified nurse some research method questions, and the nurse may not be in a place toanswer. In addition, nurses who conduct their own research are not likely to be driven to other fields like medicine (Capezuti, 2007). This is because they will have information about the field and the difference between nursing and the other areas. This may not be the case for nurses who do not know how to conduct their own research as they may not understand the depth of the discipline, andmay be influenced to change.
